According to Indian viewers, the series was broadcast between 2001 and 2003.[7] They describe the dub as quite good, and it was a good alternative to watching the series in English.[8] Since then, many Indians have searched for this version, which is very rare to find, and in which all episodes are dubbed.[9] [10] The series, apparently, was successful enough to air more than once in its entirety on the channel, which would also explain why so many Indian viewers remember it fondly.[11]

ಹಡಿ is Kannada dub of the series of Heidi. This dub is based on the German version. This is one of several dubs produced by Sun TV Network, the others being in Malayalam, Tamil and Tegulu (this two last dubs being easily found full on the Internet). Unlike the other dubs on Sun TV, this one is completely lost, and its search becomes even more complex, considering that the 2015 rebbot was broadcast on the same channel with the same name. It was broadcast on Shintu TV.

ലല്ല is Malayalam dub of the series of Heidi. This dub is based on the German version. Together with the Mandarin dubs, these are the few dubs in which the protagonist's name is changed, being called Lily here. This is one of several dubs produced by Sun TV Network, the others being in Kannada, Tamil and Tegulu (this two last dubs being easily found full on the Internet). The only thing that has appeared from this dub is the opening dubbed. It was broadcast on Kochu TV.[21]

Heidi is one of several European Portuguese dubs of the series of the same name. This dub is based on the European Spanish version, which is very faithful to the original Japanese version. Of the several European Portuguese dubs produced in Portugal, this was the only one produced for broadcast on television, to be broadcast on RTP's 'I Programa' channel (currently: RTP1). Only half of the episodes were dubbed, specifically 26, because I Programa had initially released a subtitled version (with original Japanese audio), with the first chapters purchased, but given the success of the anime 3000 Leagues in Search of Mother, also directed by Isao Takahata and also with a Portuguese dub based on Spanish ( known in Portugal, and in several countries as "Marco"), RTP produced a dubbing of the second pack of episodes, which debuted on Portuguese TV in 1977.

Exactly which episodes were selected is unknown, but evidently, it was one of the first 17.
